Why Give to Tres Rios Border Foundation?
We envision communities working for narrative, systems, and personal change – upstream (root causes of global migration) and downstream (relief and development).
We are accountable to Tres Rios Presbytery, a regional council of the Presbyterian Church (USA), located in Western-most Texas and marked by the Concho, Pecos, and Rio Grande rivers.
Tres Rios Border Foundation is guided by the following distinctives as we follow Jesus of Nazareth.
Distinctives
Prayerful Listening: Our action flows from listening for the Holy Spirit’s leading voice.
Low Overhead: Our low expenses leverage more resources where needed most.
Empowerment: We affirm dignity, friendship, and “being with, not doing for.”
Holy Welcoming: We accompany each other through reciprocal giving and receiving.
Root Causes: We work for justice with kindness, solidarity, and humility.
Narrative Change: We center local voices through dignified storytelling and ethical volunteerism.
Misión integral: We seek faith grounded in justice, healing, peace, and transformation.
