What does my gift go toward?DOWNLOAD OUR 2023 IMPACT REPORT Your gift works to sustain this new foundation, building capacity, as well as impacting migrant shelters on both sides of the border. For more information about our blend of focus areas, please visit the bottom section of our home page. Our public goal since 2021 is to create a full-time role for a Presbyterian Border Coordinator to lead the foundation forward by July of 2024. Nate’s part-time role for 36 months includes collaborating with the board in the start-up process of this foundation, speaking in churches across the U.S., building partnerships, engaging the Big C church of PC(USA), and heightening awareness from the border to our backyards in partnership with Abara. Nate will fade out his role by July of 2024.

What is the difference between Tres Rios Border Foundation and Abara?Rather than re-inventing the wheel, PC(USA) approached Abara to form a partnership as Abara partners across many divides in faith and non-faith circles. In partnership, Abara is the primary connection and training arm for Border Encounters and Border Response (shelter support). Tres Rios Border Foundation is focused on inspiring, equipping, and connecting PC(USA) congregations to engage in meaningful ways with Abara, NGOs, Pastors, and various ministries. It’s an honor to imagine and work together for the common good.
